Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate

Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining the expected cost of your healthcare services, including psychotherapy services, if you do not have health insurance or choose not to use your insurance to pay for your care.

If you schedule services at least 3 business days in advance, you are generally entitled to receive a Good Faith Estimate before receiving those services. You may also ask for a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling an appointment.

A Good Faith Estimate shows the expected charges for the healthcare services that are reasonably expected to be provided. It is an estimate and may change if your needs or treatment plan change.

Please keep a copy of your Good Faith Estimate so you can compare it with future bills.

If Your Bill Is Higher Than Your Estimate

If a provider bills you at least $400 more than the amount listed on that provider's Good Faith Estimate, you may be eligible to dispute the bill through the federal patient-provider dispute resolution process.

If you have questions about a Good Faith Estimate from MCS Counseling Center or charges for services you received from us, please contact our office. We are happy to review your estimate or billing with you and help address any questions or concerns.
